Ethical Practices
What Makes Our Brand and Production Ethical?
We’re a small, independent brand, and we want to keep the way we produce our clothing intentional. Instead of mass producing large quantities, we make our pieces in smaller, limited runs based on what we realistically expect our community to purchase. This helps us avoid unnecessary overproduction while allowing us to put more attention into each release.
A big part of that starts with the materials we choose. We prioritize 100% cotton fabrics whenever possible because of their breathability, durability, and ability to hold up over time. We want our pieces to be something you can continue wearing years from now, rather than clothing that feels disposable after a period of time.
We work closely with a small number of manufacturing partners that we’ve built ongoing relationships with. Our team visits our manufacturing facilities in person to review samples, oversee development, and make sure the quality and construction meet our standards. The factories we work with specialize in cut and sew production, which gives us the ability to work with smaller quantities and be much more involved throughout the process.
Before a piece is released, it goes through sampling, revisions, fitting, and wear testing. Sometimes that process takes weeks, and other times it takes months. We’d rather take additional time to get something right than rush a piece just to meet a release schedule.
Our designs are developed with our own two designers, who both works with us to bring each idea to life. We don’t design around fast fashion calendars or feel the need to constantly release something new just because a trend is popular. We focus more on the details, structure, fit, and overall wearability of each garment. We want our customers to feel like they’re investing in a piece they genuinely love and can continue coming back to.
We also try to carry this mindset into the creative side of the brand. A lot of the furniture, decor, accessories, and props you see in our photoshoots are thrifted or sourced secondhand. We love finding older pieces and giving them another purpose rather than buying something new for every campaign. When we do need to purchase something new, we try to support small businesses, independent sellers, and local creators whenever we can.
Even after a release, we try to avoid unnecessary waste. Any remaining inventory is kept and stored for the future rather than being intentionally destroyed or discarded. We also encourage proper garment care through washing and storage recommendations because we believe taking care of what you already own is just as important as how it was made.
We’re still a growing brand, so we know there will always be more we can improve. As we grow, we want to continue finding better options for our materials, packaging, production, and shipping without losing the hands on approach that matters to us.
For us, responsible production isn’t about claiming to be perfect. It’s about being thoughtful with what we make, producing only what we believe is needed, working closely with the people who help make our clothing, and continuing to improve as Bynxelle grows.
